Welcome back to the Top Sires column at The Eighth Pole!
Only one sire stood out this month - Touch Up. His filly Winning Touch in particular has been on fire, though Fiery Touch impressively won the Grande Derby earlier in the month too. Those are his lone two wins. Touch Up is best known for being the sire of The Devil's Touch. Now his other fillies are defending his name on the track. If they keep it up, we may have our next top stud here. He currently stands at Intrepid Racing Inc. Go make your plans now!!
No other studs equaled the progeny records, but we did have some interesting names come up. Bella Luna, winner of the February Maiden, is sired by Sea Struck, a horse I have actually never heard of. How cool is that?! Destined For Glory by Cynical also won the Jump Start Stakes in impressive fashion. We had a Seattle Song filly Mystical Melody strut her stuff in the Carte Blanche Derby. Her performance has improved drastically with new owners Akita Rose training her. We also had a lesser known foal of Crooked Fire, Ashes To Ashes, break his maiden in the middle of the month. He looked good as he did so too! Now let's see...we had that filly by last month's top sire FS Waylay Attack win yet another race this month. Alluring Assault is undoubtedly on fire!
